KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - On Thursday, hundreds of volunteers delivered meals to homebound senior citizens. Director of nutrition services with the Community Action Committee Judith Pelot said they normally serve more than 1,100 seniors a day. On Thanksgiving, they served nearly 700 people.

Meals on Wheels is making holiday wishes come true for more than 5,000 homebound seniors and disabled adults in Dallas County.

Volunteers with Meals on Wheels, along with Gov. Abbott, reached out with warm meals and warm hearts on Thanksgiving.
