Since the inaugural event two years ago, the Cup and Xfinity series have been affected by inclement weather. After both series’ races were shortened by thunderstorms in 2023, the Cup Series ended 17 laps short of the full distance last year because of rain delays.

A 2.2-mile, 12-turn track takes NASCAR drivers through Grant Park and along DuSable Lake Shore Drive, setting a scenic stage.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to the streets of Chicago for The Loop 110 (4:30 p.m. ET, The CW, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), kicking off a two-week stretch of road-course tests for the series.

Racing tires are shredded into quarter-sized chips that can be used as aggregate in roadbeds, landfill liners and landscaping products.
