NJ Transit and Amtrak have unveiled the first of three massive arches that will support the new Portal North Bridge, replacing the outdated 114-year-old swing bridge in Kearny.

Following a 30-hour journey down the Hudson River, the first of three massive arches to support the new Portal North Bridge arrived at the

"Today marks an important milestone for the Gateway Program with the arrival of a new arch that will help replace the century old Portal North Bridge," Governor Phil Murphy said.

Commuters can see crews build a new bridge in Kearny, New Jersey. It will replace the current structure which is 114 years old. Amtrak and NJ Transit gave PIX11 News a look at the construction site for the new North Portal Bridge over the Hackensack River.
