One person was arrested after a probation officer was set on fire in central Stockton, officials said Thursday.

A 39-year-old Stockton man was charged with attempted murder and arson after allegedly setting a probation officer ablaze.

He allegedly poured gasoline on a probation officer and set him on fire. Now he’s in jail and the officer is recovering.

A Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) probation agent is under investigation and could be headed to jail.
