Kenneth Wayne Jennings III was born on May 23, 1974, [2] in Edmonds, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. [3] [4] His father was an international lawyer and moved the family to South Korea when Ken was in the first grade.[5] [6] His mother was a school teacher and worked for the Department of Defense in that capacity overseas.
