Jul 27, 2023 · Ahh with a $35 difference still yeah it’s well worth it,you’ll be pleased with it! I had temporary rig with a i5-7600k man thing was sluggish while gaming and it started to show its age with a lot of titles. My current/new build has a Ryzen 7 7700x and 3090 love it so much.

Today the 5700x (~= 5800x) is about 10% faster and 15% more expensive ($230 vs $200), so the 5700x is still a slightly worse deal, but the prices are close enough that the extra 10% in speed and PCIe 4.0 for NVME drives and next-gen graphics cards would cause me to buy the 5700x.

I'm not sure I've never looked at this cpu before. If you want the 2022 cpu you need to get an Intel 12th gen or wait for the next gen Ryzens later this year (or at least the 5800X 3D in a month - just a 5800X ...

Performance wise i'd say it'd be pretty much the same. If you're about to buy a pc go for the 5800x3d if you have the money, it's the best choice imo for the rx7800xt from the am4 CPUs. i went for the 5700x simply because it's more or less the same as the 5800x with less power draw. and the budget didn't allow me to get the x3d

Because if you have 10 price insensitive customers and 50 price-sensitive customers, it's better to sell 10x 5800X and 50x 5700X than to sell 60x 5700X, or to sell 15x 5800X at a slightly lower price.
