They were substantial than the 7800 Pro-Line Controllers, and featured joystick stalks that you could turn to use as Paddle Controllers, and the console itself had four controller ports rather than two. The 2800 was released in Japan in 1983 with a line of Atari's most successful games.

So if you wanted to play a 4-player game, you'd just buy some extra 2800 joysticks at your local Japanese Atari dealer and you were set to go.

Dec 31, 2016 · What's cooler than being cool? Ice cold! Also: the Atari 2800. Of the VCS models I like the look and feel of the Atari Heavy Sixer best. (If anyone has a spare that they would trade straight-up for a Sears Heavy Sixer, PM me.) I use my 2600 Jr more than any other for its convenience, but it's only so-so in the looks department in my mind.

Sep 27, 2023 · My daily driver is a 7800. My favorite is the Sears H6r because this was the first “Atari” that I saw and played a lot at my cousins house. I never had my own Atari growing up, but I did get a C64 during high school. Today I have them all, including a 2800. I’ll always prefer the various Woody models.
