Can someone explain the difference between CVS and Caremark?
Feb 11, 2020 · Caremark is an insurance company (Edit: pharmacy benefits manager) that CVS Health owns. If your prescriptions are filled through Caremark that means they fill them somewhere and then mail them to your house. Completely separate systems. We cannot see Caremark data/information on the CVS computers.

For example, you get $10 bonus money to spend per month in the program, but it's not a true bonus, remember, because 1) you're paying a $5 fee per month for the program and 2) it bases any sale items or discounts on the price of the items you're buying after $10 is deducted!

I actually ended up just getting what I needed and going to Dollar General. I took pictures of the prices to send to my boyfriend because it was so high. Feb 12, 2022 · I used to be able to opt out and use a non-preferred pharmacy and I no longer can. I’d have to pay for the full prescription out of pocket $160, even though I have insurance. Physical CVS and Walgreens would be $8.44 every 30 days. I am now forced to use CVS Caremark mail order for it to be fully covered and get an 84 day supply (90 days).
